This Cookie Policy explains how Bezaar uses cookies and similar technologies, including local storage and session storage. It supplements our Privacy Policy and forms part of our Terms of Service.
1. What these technologies are
A cookie is a small text file a site stores in your browser. Local storage and session storage are similar browser mechanisms that hold data on your device. We refer to all of them as "cookies" here. First-party cookies are set by Bezaar; third-party cookies are set by another provider whose service loads on the page. Session cookies expire when you close the browser; persistent cookies remain until they expire or you delete them.
2. Categories we use
Strictly necessary
- Authentication — stores your signed-in session token so you stay logged in and your requests are authorised. First-party, persistent until sign-out or expiry.
- Security — helps protect sessions and detect abusive or automated traffic.
- Preferences — remembers small choices such as buyer or seller mode and interface state. First-party, persistent.
Functional
- Remembers recent searches, filters and form state so you do not have to re-enter them. First-party.
Third-party
- Payments — our payment provider sets cookies on checkout to process payments and prevent fraud, governed by that provider's own policy.
- Sign-in with Google — if you use social sign-in, Google may set cookies as part of that flow.
- Infrastructure — our hosting and database providers may set cookies needed to route and secure requests.
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share cookie data for behavioural advertising.
3. Legal basis and consent
Strictly necessary cookies are set on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a secure service and do not require consent. Where the law in your location requires consent for non-essential cookies, we will obtain it before setting them and you can withdraw it at any time by clearing cookies in your browser. We use only strictly necessary and functional cookies today; if we later add analytics or marketing cookies, we will present a consent choice before setting them.
4. Managing cookies
You can view, delete and block cookies in your browser settings, and clear local storage from the same menu. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will sign you out and prevent parts of Bezaar, including checkout and messaging, from working. Instructions differ by browser — see your browser's help pages for Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge.
5. Changes
We will update this page if our use of cookies changes, and revise the "last updated" date above.
